About EACR

EACR is a network of community grassroots organizations that work with children in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. It started in early 2014 and was registered as a Trust (No. 2487) in Kenya in September 2015. On 16 October 2023 it became a national NGO regulated by the NGO Coordination Board (Registration No. OP.218/015/23-442/13327).

The network exists because many child-focused local organizations lack capacity, resources and networks, and struggle to show their good work. EACR supports its 27 active members to be seen, skilled, funded and connected.

• 2014 Network founded
• 2015 Registered as a Trust
• 2016 Girls' education campaign with Global Affairs Canada in Migori
• 2017–18 ISSP piloted and scaled in Kuria and Rongo
• 2018 East Africa's first Girl Summit, Kampala
• 2021 Partnership with DSW Kenya: Reaching the Last Girl
• 2022/23 Vihiga health pilot; Strategic Plan 2022–2027 adopted
• 2023 Became a registered NGO
